PRiSM Young Investigator Grant

The PRISM Young Investigator Grant provides up to $5,000 to support clinical research led by early-career principal investigators in a topic related to pediatric sports medicine. This grant is designed to foster the development of future research leaders by identifying Young Investigators—defined as pediatric sports medicine professionals who have completed their training/highest degree within the previous 7 years or less—with documented research experience to date or those paired with experienced mentors or mentoring teams. The Principal Investigator must clearly document their leadership role, take primary responsibility for the project’s execution, and, if collaborating with mentors or mentoring teams, remain actively engaged with that mentor/team throughout the grant period.

PRiSM Clinical Outcomes Research Grant

The PRISM Clinical Outcomes Research Grant provides up to $5,000 to support research aimed at improving clinical outcomes in a topic related to pediatric sports medicine. Clinical outcomes may include, but are not limited to, functional status, return-to-sport rates, patient-reported outcomes, injury recurrence, injury prevention, health-related quality of life, and/or health care utilization. Projects should contribute to the evidence base that informs best practices and enhances the quality of care for young athletes.

Requirements
Applicants must be up to date on PRiSM membership dues.

Projects must be initiated within 6 months of the award notification and completed within 24 months. A one-time extension of up to 6 months may be granted upon written request with appropriate justification.

A brief final report (1–2 pages) is required within 2 months of project completion. This report should summarize project objectives, methods, key findings (preliminary or final), and how grant funds were used. Investigators are strongly encouraged to present their work at a PRISM meeting and submit findings for peer-reviewed publication.
